Andisheh TV (ATV), a 24-hour TV station, was founded in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles in June 2006. ATV broadcasts Persian via the Hotbird satellite and Eutelsat satellite to Iran and the Middle East. It was also widely seen in Afghanistan and Tajikistan, where large numbers of Persian-speaking people live.
ATV broadcast news, political and informational updates as well as economic and business updates. Weekly opinions, analysis breakdowns by experts from around the world, and special broadcasts were also available. ATV also featured educational programs and special broadcasts with a selection of local shows. Parviz Kardan was a prominent figure in Iranian broadcasting before 1979. He ran Andisheh TV later. In 2017, the channel was shut down.
