Tele Antillas Canal 2 is a television channel that broadcasts its signal from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic for the entire country through channel 2.
Created in October 1979, Tele Antillas was quickly considered one of the most modern television channels providing media content in the Dominican Republic. It was the first television channel to use stereophony.
In addition, it was among the first channels to introduce programming based largely on international productions such as telenovelas, television series, films and cartoons. Despite the integration of an international approach, it continues to produce several local programs developed specifically for the family audience.
During the 1990s, the station was bought by Grupo Corripio, which also owns Telesistema 11, and was later relaunched with a new programming format. Today, many international events such as the Oscars, the Emmys and some of the most popular events in Latin America, such as the Viña del Mar International Song Festival, are broadcast on the channel.
