Bob Dylan Biographical Film Project Starring Timothee Chalamet Halted

The Bob Dylan biopic has been discontinued indefinitely.

A decision has been made to stop the Bob Dylan biopic, in which James Mangold would have taken the director's chair. The film was planning to star Timothee Chalamet as a famous musician Bob Dylan. The announcement came from the cinematographer Phedon Papamichael who undertook the cinematography of the Trial of Chicago 7.

The story of Bob Dylan, one of folk music's most important figures worldwide, turning into a star, would be transmitted to the white screen through James Mangold and Timothee Chalamet. But with the explanations of cinematographer Phedon Paramichael, it became clear that the film could not be brought to life. Speaking to Collider during the introduction of the Trial of Chicago 7, Paramichael responded to the praise that came to his work Ferrari V Ford with James Mangold, and mentioned his Bob Dylan biography:

"They're both' 60s movies. I don't remember what I did before all this. Mangold and I were going to make a Bob Dylan movie. But we can't go to ' 60s electronic music with Timothee Chalamet. This could be my third 60s movie. It's not completely shelved yet. But it's a difficult project to complete during COVID-19. Because it takes place in small clubs, there will be a lot of period clothes, and therefore a lot of makeup is needed. So probably our next project will be Indiana Jones 5."

James Mangold had taken over the Indiana Jones series from Steven Spielberg. According to Paramichael, Indiana Jones 5 will be the next project they will implement. Meanwhile, Timothee Chalamet's highly anticipated film Dune is making vision preparations. But the Coronavirus outbreak led to changes in Dune's box office prospects. Therefore, the vision date was renewed. Especially US movie theaters have not yet fully opened.
