1 TV (1TV) is a private commercial television channel in Afghanistan, launched in February 2010. It went on air in August 2012. Its headquarters are in Kabul. 1 TV generally focuses on news and current affairs programs, with a special focus on women's issues and children's programming.
1 TV broadcasts its news shows in a mix of Pashto and Dari languages, while the majority of its entertainment shows are dubbed in Pashto. On June 9, 2015 1TV News launched 24 hour broadcast of its news program. The channel covers major events live across Afghanistan and airing special transmissions for important events such as elections. The channel also has reporters and bureaus located across the country to cover local stories with focus on women's issues and children's programming.
